  5. WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY FTP SERVER, RELEASE 2.4.2 - February, 1999

  7. wu-ftpd is a replacement ftp server for Un*x systems.  Besides
  8. supporting the ftp protocol defined in RFC 959, it adds the following
  9. features:
  10.     o  logging of transfers
  11.     o  logging of commands
  12.     o  on the fly compression and archiving
  13.     o  classification of users on type and location
  14.     o  per class limits
  15.     o  per directory upload permissions
  16.     o  restricted guest accounts
  17.     o  system wide and per directory messages.
  18.     o  directory alias
  19.     o  cdpath
  20.     o  filename filter
  21.     o  virtual host support (similar to the apache httpd server)
  22.  
  23. This release is maintained by Academ Consulting Services as a public service
  24. to the Internet. Please report bugs to wu-ftpd-bugs@academ.com. Be sure to
  25. include a specific description of how to reproduce the bug, your hardware
  26. and software release levels and the name and version of the compiler you
  27. used to build the server.
